The Grand Opening

The official opening of Pike Bridge took place on Saturday 10th September 2005 on a rainy afternoon. In spite of the weather about 200 people came along to celebrate the completion of the bridge project accompanied by Kings Stanley brass band and cream teas.

The opening took the form of an unveiling of the western inner plaque which is a permanent record of the event and this was performed by Mavis, Lady Dunrossil, the Chairman of Gloucestershire County Council.
